Inés Yujnovsky. "Las exploraciones de Francisco Host a Norpatagonia y al Chaco
Austral 1873-1887" (The explorations of Francisco Host to Northern Patagonia
and the Southern Chaco 1873-1887). This paper analyzes a set of images, draw-
ings, and maps produced by Francisco Host, a German explorer and engineer,
based in Argentina, who participated as an officer of the Engineering Corps in
military campaigns both on the southern border and in the Chaco, between 1873
and 1886.The research on these images allows us to observe the point of view
of a protagonist, scarcely studied until now. His perspective converges with the
visions of other actors but also provides a novel outlook, which is the product of
his experiences, his German origins and above all his ties to the provincial elites
of Salta, whom he had joined after his marriage established him in that region.

análisis de la revista Phoenix entre los años 1921 y 1939" (The Concept of Ger-
mandom: Also a Scientific Problem. An Analysis of the Journal, Phoenix, from
1921 to 1939). This article examines the concept of Germandom for the German
scientific community in Buenos Aires during the interwar period (1919-1939). The
feelings that accompanied the defense of language, fatherland and science as
bastions of German progress were called into question after World War I and
were subject to reconsideration in the ensuing years. An analysis of Phoenix – the
publication of the German Scientific Association in Argentina – reveals the ups,
downs, changes, and continuities of the varied emotions and associations that
revolved around Germandom during this period.

Regula Rohland de Langbehn. "Eduardo Devrient y el libro 70 Jahre" (Eduard
Devrient and the book 70 Jahre). The introduction to the memoirs of Eduard
Devrient tries to connect this author with the historical circumstances as seen
by other observers and historians. It relies heavily on the investigations of Juan
Delius, a german-argentine, who taught Natural History at the University of Kon-
stanz, Germany. Delius investigated the area around the estancia, La Constancia,
and the region of Bell Ville in Córdoba, Argentina. The introduction helps to
complete the annotations and index of names and institutions at the end of the
text. At the end of the text there is an index of names and institutions.
Keywords: historian Hans Delius – Bell Ville in Córdoba, Argentina – Estancia
La Constancia – local historians
