the investigation shows the origins of this institution, its context and scope, and
its involvement in the political controversy that divided German Buenos Aires
              during the interwar period.
Germán Kratochwil. "La Fundación Servicio Social en la Empresa (Un caso de
inserción bienhechora de inmigrantes de habla alemana en Argentina)". (The
Social Service Foundation in Business Enterprises [A Case of Beneficent Inter-
ventions by German-Speaking Immigrants in Argentina]). This paper focuses on
the admirable activities of a German immigrant married couple in the field of
social work in business enterprises, beginning in 1965. Based on these busi-
nesses' financial resources, a German development aid institution was founded,
in which Argentine social workers were educated and the corresponding services
were implemented in the businesses that collaborated with the Foundation. In
just ten years, nearly a hundred social workers finished their two-year special-
ization courses. In spite of the tensions in Argentina during these turbulent times,
a model for beneficent contributions by socially active German immigrants
              emerged.

Germán Lehrke. (History and present of the Community of German Schools in
Argentina). The AGDS was founded in 1968. During the 1930s it had a prede-
cessor, from which it inherited the rural school lodge, Verónica. This lodge is
administrated by the German schools in Argentina and offers their pupils the
experience of living far from the city for a few weeks. A system of rotation has
been organized, so all schools can use the facilties. The organization also runs
other events for the twenty incorporated schools, particularly the yearly sports
festivities and the annual congress for German Language teachers. The schools
are no longer embedded in German communities; they are normal private
schools. Their public looks focuses on pedagogy and German-language acqui-
sition. The AGDS also works to ensure the schools receive important funding
              from the German state.

Gastón A. Olivera. "La Sociedad Protectora de Inmigrantes Germánicos: ¿una
entidad transicional? Panorama historiográfico". (The Association for the Protec-
tion of German Immigrants: a Transitional Institution? Historical Panorama). This
paper outlines a historiographical panorama of the Association for the Protection
of German Immigrants founded in Buenos Aires in 1882. It is divided into three
sections and reviews the treatment of this institution of the German-speaking
community in Argentina, considering references to its existence by contempo-
raries, the memorials by the community and, finally, academic scholarship. This
tour of literature on the Association shows that research on this institution has
been inadequate. This article attempts to identify lines of approach and some
problematic aspects. (The Association for the Protection of Germanic Immigrants:
a transitional institution? Panorama of the historic mentions). This paper traces
a historiographical panorama about the "Asociation for the Protection of Ger-
manic Immigrants" founded in 1882 in Buenos Aires. Throughout three sections,
it reviews the treatment of this institution of the German-speaking community in
Argentina, considering the references to its existence by its contemporaries, the
